Planning your Tablescape is easy when you divide it into these 4 parts…

Part 1 - Color

Start with color. What colors speak to you? How can theses colors be echoed in the pieces on the table? Don’t be afraid to step outside of the box - there’s no “Fall Colors” rulebook! If everything on the table (florals, candles, plates, etc.) belongs in the color story, you’re off to a great start.

Part 2 - Texture

Texture is the key to unlocking interest and intrigue at the table. Balance the plates and silverware with elements like vibrant florals or fruits to bring life to the tablescape. Textural elements draw your guests’ eyes to each thoughtful detail and spark conversation along the way.

Part 3 - Height

Symmetry is nonessential. Create a more dynamic visual story by arranging objects at different heights along the table. Pro tip: sit down and test the tablescape to make sure that guests will be able to see each other and converse easily.

Part 4 - Function

Be intentional with what elements you add to the tablescape. Consider what the object is contributing, whether a bridge between colors, texture, or a specific purpose for the gathering. Editing will refine the design to create a hospitable space for guests to gather.
